Have you ever been in a situation that desperately required assistance from others? Did you sit quietly and try to figure it out on your own, like me? Handling things like this can be a sign of trauma. For me, life brought me to a point that I had to open my mouth and ask someone for help!!! It wasn’t about being too prideful, what the lack of requesting help was, was me not wanting to be a burden or a bother thinking that others plates were filled with the cares of their lives. Trauma can also make us want to appear to have it all together because we don’t want to seem like a basket case. When desperate times come, we must become transparent enough to admit we need help!

One of the most monumental blessings of being a born again believer is that we have built in spiritual help through the power of the Holy Ghost. We have been afforded the awesome opportunity to be able to fall on and call on our Helper! One title of the Holy Spirit is helper. We lack strength at times like everyone else but we have the knowledge that we can call on power from above to access help.

My Dad’s Mantra

Years ago when my late father went through health battles and other challenges he taught me how to say, Help me Holy Ghost!” This was his mantra in his latter days. This phrase was his immediate way to access divine assistance in any situation. He had battles no one may have known but he knew that Christ could help him to overcome in everyday circumstances. We must take note of his faith, and say what he said, when things get tough.

Believe it or not when we ask for help, help comes. It is always there, but we must tap into it by calling out to receive what we need. When you are burdened by life’s circumstances all you need is a loving God that you can call on for help. He is more than enough. With God all things are possible, if you believe!!!
