Could you be a villain!?!?

Becoming what others want you to be is exhausting! Delegating all your energy to a future for which you were never created is a total waste of energy. Pushing yourself in this direction can drain you of lasting peace. We often can find ourselves performing because we believe that the version of us that we are, is the version we should be to please other people. As a survivor of childhood mistreatment that unleashed within me a desire to please people more than God, or myself, I became a person I couldn’t recognize. It wasn’t necessarily a bad thing to the people who praised me for abandoning myself to do what made them feel better about their lives.

The main issue I have found with living life confined to the idea of other people to please or appease them is you never get to play the role you were chosen to play in God’s story of your life. The plan which he predestined for you is abandoned and neglected to make others seem happy. In the bible the book of Jeremiah recorded that God has good plans for us! “Thoughts of good and not of evil to give us a future and a hope (KJV).” This is a divine blueprint for the vision God has for his chosen people who were currently in captivity at that time. The current situation was daunting. It seemed as if the opposite was occurring in their lives.

When we live out a different path than the one we were created for, in any circumstance or for any reason discontentment will set in. It’s because we know we were made for more. We may not know what that more looks like, however the soul has a predetermined destination set within that often doesn’t let us rest until we stop evading it. One of the ways to get where we are going is often to breakout of where we are. We must leap into our destiny! We can’t give up on purpose, or shrink ourselves for others.

—HERE IS THE MAIN POINT—

To live in God’s design, you often must become a villain in other people’s imagination of your life. This is a call to take brave action to protect your future. The question is, do you have the courage to become the type of person who can endure being hated for who you are destined to become? Every chosen person is a villain to those who wish they had the favor the chosen people have on their lives! Buckle your seatbelts and get used to being the bad guy for a good cause! We all should remember the true proverb: jealousy is more cruel than the grave!

In my own life, I seemingly became a villain to certain people when I began to tell my story of freedom. This was because there are some who believe that if you are born a certain way you must remain that way to stay true to yourself. But what about your destiny? What about the you that God wants you to be? We were all born a certain way (in sin) according to the bible, that’s why we must be born again by the Spirit of God to please God! His version of us trumps the version that we ourselves identify with or the version others make us out to be.

We must remain true to God, once we are aware of his ordinances and are born again with an awareness of his presence, if we want to live out the fullest life possible that leads to eternal life and prosperity. The wholeness that we crave only comes from obeying his voice. We must remain obedient to him when He becomes  the lover of our souls and the Lord of our lives. “He made us and not we ourselves(KJV).” His plans will prosper us if we follow his path. It leads to life, and that life more abundantly. Although I became a villain in someone else mind, I am becoming who I am destined to be, an obedient child of the King!
