Every Spiritual Blessing

Being a king’s kid sounds exciting when we become God’s children. With the new adoption into the family of God we look for natural wealth to accommodate our lives.  We often want God to bless us financially, overlooking the blessings that God grants us spiritually. We may be material wealthy or struggle financially currently but we as the children of God have been given everything, we need to live a Godly life. We may desire the opulent lifestyles of the rich and famous, but we have greater wealth in the spirit. When we discover that we are born again of a royal family it can be confusing as to why our financial lives often don’t line up. Could it be because we are born again spiritually and those things that God has given us are spiritual gifts? We are spiritually royalty.  In every circumstance we must remember we have true riches that don’t fade away. We as Christians may not have material wealth but we are blessed.

As the word of God teaches us in Jesus’ sermon on the mountain, we are blessed even when negative things happen all around us. Being blessed does not always equate to natural wealth, permanent health or happiness. We can experience in every season, whether we have much or suffer need, the goodness of God. Our blessings are spiritual!

Being a child of God we have a new spiritual inheritance. It is this spiritual inheritance that God blesses us with. We must realize that the spiritual inheritance we are blessed with far outweighs having money or having a status of natural wealth on the earth. We know that this world is temporary. The things that we have on earth are just what we have on earth. Our natural substance one day will be left here, and we will live eternally apart from the things we worked so hard to have. Wearing our material wealth is praised in the earth but what pleases God is when we are clothed with humility and a gentle spirit. That is more important to God than things we possess. Don’t get it wrong, the father wants us blessed naturally and spiritually, but our blessing that is God given is in heavenly places.

We must remember that the word of God teaches us that eternal riches never leave our lives. As we have natural banking accounts on earth, so do we have our accounts in heaven. These spiritual accumulations are eternal reservoirs that we can draw spiritual resources from. In heaven, our accounts are filled with spiritual currency such as wisdom, peace, joy, faith, healing, and love. We can place a demand on these things when we pray and trust God for a spiritual blessing instead of a natural one.

We must remember, we have all we need because of what Christ died and rose again to supply us with. The word of God teaches we have every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus. We have a great account to pull from when we feel like we lack the spiritual things we need. These great blessings that we have the power to receive will impact our walk with God and our earthly lives.

Although we work hard for money, there is no money that can bring us the ultimate peace, or wisdom, or love, or any other spiritual gift. We often purchase things that make us feel like we have those blessings, but the truth is we must ask Jesus for these spiritual blessings. When we receive the understanding that these far outweigh what money can buy, then we will be grateful for the eternal blessings we receive from Heaven.
