Just say Yes!

I have found that with a busy day to day schedule and more than you can handle tasks on your plate, it can be easy to miscommunicate your love relationship for the lord by not having spent enough time in prayer. We as believers all desire to be close to the lord to hear his voice and to sit at his feet. But like Martha we stay busy trying to show God that we are working for him instead of listening and humbling ourselves as in Mary’s position at the Lord’s feet eating from his words that invigorate us. There is nothing wrong with serving God, however you must remember we are no longer servants of the lord; God has called us his own children. We have become sons and daughters adopted into the royal family of God. We must begin to remember our father longs to hear from us and that requires that we take time in our busy schedules and acknowledge him.

There are days that we have 30 minutes to spend with the father and there are days that this seems impossible, especially with kids, a job and a personal life. We show our devotion often by just simply going to church and not really engaging in the deep waters of faith during our weekly routines. We think many times when we attend weekly services or catch an impactful message on television or via the internet that we have found a solution to stay plugged into the divine source of life. It’s not that simple. We must find time to pray and read the word for ourselves, and not rely on others who have studied and prayed for the revelations he gave them. That is not all he wants from us; he really wants to hear from us. Hear our hearts. Know our struggles and ask for divine guidance. The Holy Spirit is our helper, and we must use our relationship with the lord to accomplish his purpose in our hearts.

We don’t have to walk this walk alone. All God wants us to do is to include him. He wants to be primary in your life. The lord is waiting… All we need to do is say yes. Yes, to more fellowship with him, yes to allowing him into our day, yes to worship more and pray more. It is in our yes that we discover his deep and abiding love will never be quenched. He relentlessly pursues a relationship with us and your yes gives him permission to enter every space your life has to offer. This is how we become truly devoted to God. He takes residence in our day and not just our hearts. We love to say that Jesus is Lord of our lives but is he lord of your day? Have you surrendered all 24 hours to him? He may be the very change in routine that you need to get more accomplished. This will keep you grounded so that the challenges you face won’t sweep you away in a wind of calamity.

Pray with me today, Dear Jesus, I love you and I am not going to keep it long, I just want to tell you YES! You can have all of me, including my day. In Jesus’ Name Amen!
